Reflections of Self
We all have opinions of ourselves that control our attitude and self-expression. This can cause us to question ourselves and what actually is 'the self.' For my second semester folio, I explored images of the self through and off reflective surfaces (such as off glass and through glass). These images, through differing perspectives and view points, show how clouded, and uncertain one can be when understanding who you are. This exploration is personal to me as I continue to understand who I am. I aspired for my work to convey these thoughts I have about myself with the assistance of soft dramatic lighting that resembles an aesthetic of Francesca Woodman and Bill Henson. I blended both photographers styles together to form a unique look that is my own.
